Previous Fundraising Events:

The Penny Ball 2003

Many of Penny's personal friends and business associates, alongside her daughters Polly and Lisa, and John Madejski as patron, formed a committee to enable this first event to happen. Such was the support, the auction included a Cartier watch, two villas in France for two weeks in the summer, and a round of golf at Loch Lomand. Approximately 280 people attended the Ball, enjoying the champagne reception and three course dinner, and dancing the night away to "a band".

Night of Luxury 2005

A Ladies Fashion Show, an auction and luxury shopping, including Links Jewellery and cashmere clothing... Among the prizes was Richard Branson's kindly donated all-expenses-paid holiday to his private island Necker, for two people, which was auctioned for almost £13,000 on the night.

The event was organised by two of Penny's daughters: Lisa, Tara and Tanya Thorne, and her god-daughter. The event raised £40,000 for the British Heart Foundation, chosen because Polly, Lisa and Tara also tragically lost their father at only 42 to Heart Disease.

The Glitter Ball 2006

This event was run by Marion Palmer, mother of Charlotte Palmer, a schoolfriend to Tara Nash, following the loss of her mother-in law. The start of the auction saw the sale of a car donated by European Motor Holdings. This event was a great sucess; much fun was had by all who attended and £20,000 was raised for The Stroke Association.
